From Taiz to California; Yemenis protested against the UAE, demanding its expulsion from the Alliance to support legitimacy in Yemen, denouncing what they called the coup of the Southern Transitional Council on legitimacy.

Demonstrations began after Friday prayers from Freedom Square in the southern province of Taiz in support of the legitimate government, and demanded Saudi Arabia to set a clear position towards the UAE's practices in southern Yemen.

Jakarta
In Indonesia, dozens of members of the Yemeni community staged a vigil in front of their country's embassy in Jakarta, rejecting what they described as UAE violations against Yemen and its sovereignty.

In a statement, the protesters condemned the UAE's violations against unarmed civilians, as well as the raids that targeted the national army forces and left 300 soldiers dead and wounded.

The participants also condemned the formation of the UAE as the cells of the assassinations, the establishment of secret prisons to arrest the violators of Abu Dhabi, and stressed their rejection of the UAE occupation project, and attempts to divide Yemen.

California
In a related context, members of the Yemeni community in California in the United States staged a protest against the practices of the UAE in Yemen.

The participants condemned the UAE's support for the Transitional Council forces and condemned the bombing of Yemeni forces in Aden.

The protesters also demanded the expulsion of the UAE from Yemen, and called on Saudi Arabia to establish a clear position towards the UAE's practices in southern Yemen.

A new front
In August, a new front was opened in the war between government forces and separatists demanding independence for southern Yemen. Separatists took control of Aden, the provisional capital of the government, and other nearby areas after battles with government forces.

The Yemeni government accuses the UAE of aiding the southern "security belt forces" (the military arm of the pro-independence independence council) in particular carrying out air strikes. Abu Dhabi has in recent years trained and armed the southern forces on a large scale.

The internationally recognized Yemeni government on Wednesday refused to talk to the southern separatists, but expressed its desire for direct dialogue with the UAE.
