Ängarydsskolan in Tranås requests help with mold

In their letter to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, the safety representative Mia Wolinder Nycander writes that they have had problems with mold in the school's dining room, mold odor and leaking holes in the ceiling of the student hall.

- The hole has been struck over a masonite slab, so it is at that level. Tranå housing has said that one should consult a consultant to look at the whole problem. But we have talked before so we can see what is happening, so we now turn to the Swedish Work Environment Authority to ask them to look at it as well and come up with a proper schedule, says Mia Wolinder Nycander.

According to a student and staff survey conducted by the safety representative, almost everyone feels that something is wrong.

- We have done a student survey and I as a safety representative have talked to teachers and basically everyone feels that something is wrong, be it the temperatures or strange smells, says Mia Wolinder Nycander.

- Staff have come back from vacation and already got a headache from day one, says Mia Wolinder Nycander.

Ventilation is identified as the main cause of many of their problems.

- The big problem is about ventilation. There have been no problems with some of the school buildings. There they have tried to cook again and again, but there remains a scent of mold. It knows everyone who steps inside the door when you come to school, says Mia Wolinder Nycander.

Repairs and repairs have been made over the years.

- You do not know what it is, you have measured and it has produced some results when you find moisture damage that you fix because. Now it is a matter of wanting a timetable. We need help and support from those who can solve the problem, ”says Mia Wolinder Nycander.

In the letter to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, she also writes that they have appealed against the Environment and Health's decision to close the case.

- The Environmental Inspectorate wants to close the matter with them as discussions are underway. We appeal this because the case is not resolved just because there is a call going on, says Mia Wolinder Nycander.
