“Within a few weeks, if I'm not mistaken, Zelensky will meet with an expert group, journalists, as well as with representatives of different editorial offices. I am sure that there will be representatives of the NEWSONE TV channel, ”the deputy said on the NEWSONE broadcast.
According to him, following the meeting, a joint decision will be made on this situation.
“The president will listen to everyone, learn about the problems in detail and convey his vision. As I understand it, a general decision will be made based on the results of this meeting ... in the direction of preserving freedom of speech in Ukraine, ”the representative of the Servant of the People said.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian party, Opposition Platform - For Life, Yuriy Boyko urged Zelensky to react harshly to the situation surrounding the possible closure of NEWSONE.
On September 5, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine announced its intention through the court to revoke the NEWSONE channel and close it for "inciting ethnic, racial or religious hatred."
Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Rabinovich called the move “journalism killing” in Ukraine.
