The Department of Transport and the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) today announced the start of registration in the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System for individuals by visiting the Department of Transport's website or by reviewing the Customer Happiness Centers of the Integrated Transport Center in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi or one of Abu Dhabi Government Services Centers (TAM) during working hours. This comes within the framework of the activation of four gates on major bridges in the city of Abu Dhabi on 15 October 2019, in order to reduce traffic congestion and raise the efficiency of the local transport sector and in line with the comprehensive road transport plan for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.


The Department announced that the date of the second stage of registration in the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System for the category of companies will be announced in the future and will be allowed to register their vehicles and fleets.
Those who wish to use the roads leading to Abu Dhabi Island must register with the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System via the Department of Transport website https://dot.gov.abudhabi and click on the “Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System” icon and select the “Registration” page and then follow Steps using your Emirates ID number.
It is worth mentioning that all vehicles registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi until October 15, 2019 will be registered in the system automatically without any fees.The user will receive a text message on his mobile number registered with the Abu Dhabi Police on the account details. For vehicles that will be registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi after 15 October 2019, the user must add them to his account and pay the registration fee of AED 100 per vehicle (AED 50 as registration fee and AED 50 to be credited to his account).


For those who own vehicles registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and vehicles registered outside the Emirate, an automatic account will be registered for him, including his vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi without paying a registration fee, and a text message will be sent to him via his mobile phone on the account details. Registered outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and will have to pay a fee of AED 100 per vehicle (AED 50 as registration fee and AED 50 to be credited to his account).

For vehicles not registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, users must login to the account through the website manually, add vehicles and then pay the registration fee of AED 100 per vehicle (AED 50 as registration fee and AED 50 to be credited to his account) before crossing the gates of the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System. In the event that any vehicle not registered in the Emirate passes through a portal of the tariff system after its activation, the owner of that vehicle will be given 10 working days to register in the system before issuing any violation against him. It is worth mentioning that the launch of the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System follows the implementation of Law No. (17) of 2017 on traffic tariffs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, according to which, a transit fee will be charged per vehicle crossing any of the gates on Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bridge, Al Maqta Bridge and Mussafah, AED 4 for each time the gates are crossed during peak times from Saturday to Thursday (in the morning from 7: 00-9: 00 and evening from 5: 00-7: 00). For off-peak hours, Fridays and public holidays, a fee of AED 2 will be charged for each time the gates are crossed, but not exceeding AED 16 per vehicle per day.
