India-Japan Confirmation of Foreign Ministers and Defense Ministers' Meeting earlier this year 13:13 on September 5

Prime Minister Abe met with Prime Minister Modi in India and held the first foreign ministerial defense and defense talks in Japan and India, the so-called “2 plus 2” earlier in the year. They agreed to accelerate the adjustment in the direction of visiting India.

To attend the International Economic Forum, Prime Minister Abe, visiting Vladivostok in the Russian Far East, had a summit meeting with Prime Minister Modi in India for approximately 45 minutes on the morning of 5th Japan time.

During the meeting, the two leaders confirmed that Japan-India's first Foreign Ministers and Defense Ministerial Meeting, the so-called 2 Plus 2, will be held early this year.

On top of that, Prime Minister Abe agreed to accelerate coordination in the direction of visiting India in December as a mutual visit between the leaders.

Prime Minister Modi also expressed his expectation that an agreement will be signed between the SDF and the Indian army to allow fuel to be provided mutually before Prime Minister Abe's visit to India.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi explained the situation in the Kashmir region where India and Pakistan contend for territorial rights, but Prime Minister Modi avoided the tension. Therefore, he expressed his expectation for a peaceful solution through dialogue, assuming that self-control of the concerned countries is necessary.
