After hurricane Dorian, the balance sheet continues to grow in the Bahamas. There are at least 20 dead on this archipelago whose most devastated islands are almost cut off from the world. 70,000 people "need immediate help" according to the UN. And Dorian, who has regained intensity, and is now in Category 3, is heading to the US East Coast, which hopes to be spared the impact.

Hurricane Dorian was upgraded to category 3, with winds reaching 185 km / h, US weather reports said. Difficult to predict its trajectory as Dorian has so far been erratic. Its current winds of more than 170km / h have finally spared Florida. Without touching the ground, it moves now in parallel of Georgia, and according to the American meteorologists, go along this Thursday South Carolina then North Carolina where several zones were evacuated.

" Sudden floods will be more and more likely in Georgia and eastern Carolina. Thursday, there is a high risk of sudden floods in the coastal areas of Carolina, where large and potentially fatal sudden floods are to be feared, "tweeted the US weather services.

" We were lucky in Florida "

" We've been lucky in Florida," said Donald Trump from the White House, " hope we'll be in Georgia and Carolina too, but do not give up." Many bad things can still happen. The US president, who has also sparked a controversy by mistakenly announcing that Alabama was on the road to Dorian, promises to send food and equipment to the largely devastated Bahamas.

This aid promises to be difficult to transport, the airports of the two most affected islands are indeed under water. Marsh Harbor, the main city of the Abacos Islands, is 60% destroyed according to the authorities. When Dorian ravaged the archipelago , it was still ranked in category 5, making it one of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded.
