Abandoned penalty for young people:

YES: S, M, SD, C, KD, L

NO: MP, V

S went to election scrapped penalties for young people, while MP, like V, thinks that longer prison sentences can lead to young offenders getting caught up in crime. According to the investigation that came last year, everyone from 18 to 21 would be sentenced as adults, but Morgan Johansson (S) has now signaled that he wants to limit it to serious organized crime.

Witnesses:

YES: S, M, SD, C, KD, L

NO: MP, V

Crown witnesses mean that a perpetrator who testifies against his accomplices can receive a reduced sentence. Here, too, there is a rift between S and MP, but a parliamentary majority has in a statement demanded that the government implement this and the directives for that investigation will come shortly.

Anonymous witnesses:

JA: M, SD, KD, L

NO: S, C, V, MP

Here, too, there is a demand from the Riksdag, but both S and C and MP are opposed. However, it is not at all impossible that the upcoming investigation of Crown witnesses and witness protection will also review this.

Travel restrictions:

JA: S, M, C, KD, L

NJA: V, MP

NO: SD

This alliance went to election and it means a ban on gang criminals to stay in certain places after serving prison sentences. Only SD says no, they mean it is difficult to apply and ineffective.

Stronger punishment for gang crime:

JA: M, SD, C, KD, L

NO: S, V, MP

Although this was a election promise from the former alliance, SD has also pushed the issue. M wants to go the longest and requires double penalties for gang members. So far, both S and MP say no to a special gang provision in the criminal code, even if a variant was included in the government declaration.

Visitation Zones:

YES: M, SD, KD

NO: S, C, V, MP, L

The opportunity to visit people without suspicion in certain places. Just as in the case of stricter penalties for gang criminals and stay bans, M has taken inspiration from Denmark.
