"In light of the turbulence of recent months, Swedbank needs a fresh start in the process of regaining confidence," Anders Karlsson, acting CEO and CEO, writes in a comment.

Francke Rodau was head of communications under the former CEO Birgitte Bonnesen, who was fired early in the spring in connection with an annual general meeting. At that time, a Swedish criminal investigation into suspected insider crime with connection with the disclosure of extensive suspected money laundering had been extended to suspected serious fraud.

"Important contribution to Swedbank"

“Gabriel has made an important contribution to Swedbank during his tenure, and now is a good opportunity to change the leadership of our communications organization,” writes Anders Karlsson, who is currently Swedbank's chief financial officer but took over as acting CEO when Bonnesen was fired.

A recruitment to find a successor to Gabriel Francke Rodau has begun.
