According to Popova, at the moment, the task of reaching the flu vaccination is not worth the whole population.

“100% is an ideal situation that is hardly achievable and maybe it is not very important to achieve exactly 100%. 60% of the vaccinated population gives a very high protective effect in general for the population. If we say for measles that we need to vaccinate 95–98%, then for flu we say today that we need to be vaccinated with 60%, with a maximum of 70% of the population. This is the bar that protects the population. But I hope that someday we will reach the level of 100%, but so far the task is - above 50% this year, ”said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.

She also clarified that all flu vaccines, which are purchased at the expense of the federal budget and the budgets of the country's subjects, are only of domestic production.

“They have proven themselves very well, give a very good immune response, protect people. We have practically no sick people who are immunized. People who have been vaccinated maintain their health. Even if they get sick, the disease is easy enough, ”she said.

In addition, Popova launched the all-Russian vaccination campaign against influenza.
