September 04, 2019 Even an eight-year-old son of one of the bosses, a gang of narco-traffickers operating between Gioia Tauro and Rosarno dismantled with an operation of the carabinieri of the provincial command of Reggio Calabria. The 8-year-old boy involved, despite his age, was not only fully aware of the parent's illegal activities, but he had been induced to take part in it, arousing his father's great satisfaction. According to the investigators, the contents of the dialogues between father and son are particularly disturbing, during which the parent, without hesitation, faced discourses related to drug trafficking and arms.

The survey
The investigation, conducted by the Investigation Unit of the Carabinieri of Reggio Calabria and coordinated by the deputy prosecutor, Calogero Gaetano Paci, and by the deputy prosecutor, Adriana Sciglio, was launched in the summer of 2016 and would have allowed to outline the existence of a organization dedicated to drug trafficking led by Agostino Cambareri, 46, from Gioia Tauro (RC), with the collaboration of his relatives and trusted collaborators. The criminal consortium was able to supply drugs, marijuana and cocaine in particular, important Calabrian marketplaces. The communications between the adepts took place through the use of a cryptic language that borrowed from the automotive jargon the allusive terms to refer to the traffic and the quantities of drugs to be sold ("machine", "upholstery", "tires").

Organization and protection
The organization also made use of a protection network aimed at informing, in the event of arrests or kidnappings, all the members of the danger of investigative attention of the police forces. The investigations have highlighted the full operativeness of the group in the territories of Gioia Tauro and Rosarno, but with a varied territorial scope and with offshoots also outside the province of Reggio (Tropea, Lamezia Terme and Crotone). There have been numerous sales of documented marijuana and cocaine. The investigations also led to the identification of the territorial logistic base in a campaign field in the availability of Cambareri, a reference site for the storage and withdrawal of drugs. Giuseppe Cacciola and Giovanni Sicari were close collaborators of Cambareri. The managerial role recognized to Cambareri also derived from being the only subject able to determine the price of the sale of the narcotic drug to the retail and the quality of the narcotic substance treated. His figure would have emerged, during the investigations, like that of an expert connoisseur of all kinds of drugs, with many years of experience in the field. The capacity of organizer of Sicari would be testified by the network of relationships that man was able to weave and feed without interruption with multiple subjects, even far from Gioia Tauro, all however connected to the top of the group. Finally, Cacciola would be directly involved in the dynamics of the association and placed in a subordinate position with respect to Cambareri, his usual supplier of drugs and subject to whom he paid the illicit earnings, but superordinate, as organizer of the association's activities in the area of Tropea ( VV), through Saverio Fortunato and Francesco Mazzitelli, directed by the same for retail purposes.

The net of the underworld
In the network of subjects available to the top group, including the usual suppliers of drugs, also Massimo Camelliti who had direct relations with Cambareri and Sicari. Another prominent element would have been Massimiliano Mammoliti, a buyer of narcotic drugs that favored the association of belonging by procuring new customers or "retaining" the already existing one, acting, as necessary, as a pusher against the usual customers and managing the square of Oppido Mamertina (RC). Cambareri also made use of the collaboration of Marianna Ranieri for the management of illegal trafficking in Gioia Tauro, which was not only responsible for the drug test to test its quality, but was also in charge of the retail sales and the collection of receivables claimed by the organization towards customers. Another element of the association would have been Salvatore Lamonica, involved in the negotiations for the supply of drugs as well as in the division of the illicit profits that derive from it. Finally, among those arrested are Vincenzo Condello, Salvatore Bubba, Natale Giunta and Rocco Saraceno, all of whom are under house arrest.
