- Brexit: Labor will not support Boris Johnson early elections
The 'premier' Boris Johnson has suffered the second parliamentary defeat in less than 24 hours on account of the law to veto Brexit without an agreement, finally approved by 329 to 320 votes, with the support of a score of conservative 'rebel' deputies . Among them, the grandson of Churchill Nicholas Soames, expelled from the party by Johnson himself after 37 years of service.
Former Treasury Secretary Philip Hammond again voted against his leader, who he accused of being carrying out "a mass purge" in the conservative ranks. Boris Johnson in the meantime accused the 'rebel' conservatives of giving their support to the 'law of surrender' and of paving the way for the "Corbyn Board" (referring to the leader of the Labor opposition).
