It was after the school's end on Monday that a noise degenerated into knife cutting at the Möckelngymnasiet's schoolyard. Despite his young age, the suspect is now in custody since Monday.

"It is a serious crime and we want to be able to secure evidence," says Pia Åsberg, who is a prosecutor in the case. In addition, we cannot interrogate him without a defense lawyer and it takes some time to arrive. That is why he is allowed to remain in custody.

"No sign of going this far"

According to the report to the police, the two boys must have "cheated" with each other already at school.

"There was some concern in the air," says Principal Elisabet Nielsen at the Möckelngymnasiet, but there were no signs that it would go this far.

After the end of school hours, the brawl continued that one of the boys, just outside the large entrance of the school, pulled out a knife and stabbed the other. The cutter must have left a stab wound behind one ear, a cut wound on the ear itself and a swollen jaw.

Student turned off

All pupils have been informed of the incident and the school has now been shut down by the suspected pupil for a week. It will then be up to the high school board in Karlskoga to decide whether to continue the suspension or not.

- It's very quiet at school today, says Elisabet Nielsen. Just as usual.

On Tuesday, the suspect will be questioned by prosecutors. If the boy is convicted, he can be sentenced to closed youth care, but according to Pia Åsberg, it is difficult at present to say about the punishment.

- This is special because it is about youth who are not judged in the same way as adults.
