• Repression: About 700 detainees at the demonstration for fair elections in Moscow

The Moscow court on Tuesday sentenced blogger Vladislav Sinitsa to five years in jail for "inciting social networks to use violence against the children of policemen" in revenge for the repression of protest demonstrations.

Sinitsa was arrested last August 5 after posting a tweet in which he answered a question about whether opposition activists should know the names of the police.

Under the pseudonym "Max Steklov", he replied that they could find personal photos of the agents and that "maybe one day a child would not return from school", adding that his parents could receive a "snuff" video, a recording of violence Real against a person.

The Russian National Guard has welcomed the judicial decision against Sinitsa. "We believe that the sentence issued by the court is fair," said spokesman that armed body, Valeri Gribakin, in statements to the Russian agency Interfax.

According to investigators, on July 31, Sinitsa "called on a wide circle of people to commit illegal acts of violence against the children of law enforcement officials."

A member of the court explained that according to the defendant's testimony "he admitted that he published hateful and hostile entries against the police, including members of the National Guard, but did not plead guilty."

Sinitsa called the judicial process "absurd," while his defense said that what was published on the Internet "is obviously not a call to violence, but a reflection on what could happen."
