According to the rescue service, personnel from a preschool in Norumshöjd first rang the alarm. Gothenburg Energy confirms that a leak has been discovered on a pipe in the district heating network.

- Yes, it is a fairly extensive leak that causes hot water to spray out of the pipe that has leaked, says Cecilia Erdalen, press officer at Gothenburg Energy.

According to Erdalen, Gothenburg energy is on its way to the site, and you will now switch off the district heating network in the area to bring down the pressures in the pipes and thus get a stop on the water that sprays up. About 10,000 people live in Tuve.

- In most of Tuve you get rid of heat in the elements and with the hot water. It is difficult to say how many people are affected, but of course it will especially apply to people in Norumshöjd where the leak happened, says Erdalen.

At half past eleven, there was no forecast for when the leak could be stopped and the district heating network restored.

As recently as yesterday, a similar leak caused green-colored hot water to emerge from the ground in central Borås.
