In the United States, the southeastern states are preparing for the arrival of Dorian. The hurricane, classified category 5, is currently on the Bahamas where it has already caused significant damage. This is the worst hurricane to hit the archipelago.

It is a monster of rains and winds that fell on the Bahamas. Gusts over 300 km / h and heavy rains. The images that arrive show half-shaven houses and entire neighborhoods flooded. It is indeed the most violent hurricane in the history of the paradisiacal archipelago. The category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, one of the most powerful ever recorded in the Atlantic, landed on the island of Elbow Cay and Great Abaco, the main island of the Abacos.

Dorian is powerful and above all, he moves slowly, at the speed of a person walking. He should stay above the Bahamas for at least a dozen hours. This gives him time to cause unprecedented damage.
Several areas of the archipelago are slightly above sea level. And with the huge waves expected, the authorities fear that parts of the Bahamas will disappear under water. A situation followed very closely in the United States, the next target on the trajectory of Dorian.

In Florida, many counties have been evacuated and schools will remain closed until at least Wednesday. For now, the hurricane is expected to move north without directly affecting the southeastern states. But the US authorities remain vigilant. Dorian has already changed course several times. If it strikes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina directly, the situation could be catastrophic. The governor of Florida speaks in this case of an apocalyptic scenario.
