FIFA has unveiled a list of candidates for the 2019 Best of the Year awards, which see renewed conflict between rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Liverpool's defender Virgil van Dyck was among the favorites for Ronaldo and Messi.

FIFA chose to compete for Liverpool's goalkeeper Alison Baker, Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and Barcelona's Ter Stegen.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is competing for the best coach with German Jurgen Klopp and Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.

In the race to win the Puskas Award for Best Goal, FIFA picked goals from Argentine Lionel Messi, Colombian Juan Fernando Cintro and Hungarian Daniel Zsori.

Lucie Bronze, American Megan Rabinoy and Alex Morgan were chosen by the International Federation to compete for the Best Player.

United States coach Jill Ellis, England's Phil Neville and Netherlands coach Sarina Wiegman will compete for the best women's football coach award.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Milan on September 23.
