Bahraini activist Naji Fateel said in an audio recording from inside his prison in a Bahraini prison that detainees are carrying out strikes for violating prisoners' rights.

The Bahraini detainee added that the last two years witnessed serious violations of prisoners' rights, including physical, psychological and verbal torture.

The Bahraini activist said that the issue of preventing detainees from performing religious rites is not the only reason for the suffering of prisoners.

A week ago, Bahraini opposition figures organized a stand in front of their country's embassy in London, in support of political prisoners on hunger strike.

Participants denounced what they described as harsh and degrading conditions against political prisoners in Bahrain's prisons.

British human rights institutions, including Bahrain, demanded radical reform of Bahrain as a prelude to political reform.

Hundreds of detainees in the "Jaw" and "Dry Dock" prisons have been on hunger strike since the 15th of last month to protest the conditions of their detention and persecution.
