The attack took place near a residential complex where some foreign private military agencies are based. First a car bomb to break through security barriers, then several heavily armed insurgents entered the site, described by the Taliban as "invaders' nest". The assault in response to US and Afghan operations against civilians, after bombing mosques, clinics and schools.
