The president of the Community of Madrid has indicated that Telemadrid "is no longer an essential public service" and that it has to demonstrate its public facet with audience quotas.
In this regard, he stressed that the regional administration has to "lower the waiting list", improve the Metro network and continue building public services. "The priorities are what they are," he said
Asked about whether he would contemplate closing Telemadrid, he said that "it will be seen" but that it is an issue that does not depend exclusively on the Government since its status is included in a law of the Madrid Assembly.
