One of those who went to visit was Thomas Börjesson outside Vissefjärda in Emmaboda municipality.

- I have a smaller plant on my garage roof that I show off. When the county board called and asked if I wanted to join, I said yes. It's good if more people are interested in getting solar cells, he says.

Thomas Börjesson outside Vissefjärda was one of Kalmar County's solar cell owners who showed off their facilities on Sunday.

The county administrative board in Kalmar is behind the event and the aim is to get more people interested in environmentally friendly electricity generation.

Interest is increasing

Many different types of facilities went to visit. In addition to the 20 villas that showcased their photovoltaic panels, agriculture, schools and hospitals participated.

Interest in solar energy is growing. This can be seen, among other things, as the number of grant applications to the County Administrative Board for the construction of solar cells has increased steadily. Thomas Börjesson believes this is partly because the facilities are constantly improving.

- I have had my plant for almost three years and during that time the prices have dropped and at the same time they become a little more efficient, he says.

In the clip, Thomas Börjesson shows off his plant and tells how many years it will take before it is profitable.
