Eskilsbykalaas to: "We want to show that we exist"

The Eskilsbykalaset was organized for the first time this weekend. Eskilsby is located in Härryda municipality, about one mile south of Landvetter.

- We feel outside sometimes and we want to show that our village exists. That is why I have taken the initiative to Ekilsbykalaset, says Ida Gudmundsson, project manager for the festival.

According to her, a few hundred people came during the day to see, among other things, how artwork was created using a chainsaw. People were given the opportunity to greet an alpaca, and then poetry reading and music were offered with five local bands and two bands from outside.

- It feels like there are constant closure threats to the school, reductions in public transport and then it is a 70-way through the village. Something that we want to reduce to 50 kilometers per hour instead of increasing the safety of those who live here.

Can't you expect worse service if you have settled in a small village?

- That's enough, but at the same time there are quite a few people living in one place. We don't need that much either, but you wish something could happen here. We are many creative people living here.
