RFI is organizing the sixth "Bourse Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon" in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, after the first five editions in Mali in 2014, Madagascar in 2015, Benin in 2016, Senegal in 2017 and Côte d Ivory last year. Created in tribute to its two reporters murdered November 2, 2013 in Kidal, northern Mali, this scholarship rewards each year, in a country in Africa, a young radio journalist and a young technician (not ) reporting. The laureates receive a one-month training in Paris. The scholarship will be given in Kinshasa on November 2nd, date declared by the United Nations "International Day of the end of the impunity for the crimes committed against journalists" in memory of Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon.

Nominations are open from Monday, September 2 to Monday, September 23, 2019 to all active Francophone journalists and technicians and to Francophone students undergoing journalism training, under the age of thirty-five, residing in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ten candidate journalists and ten technical candidates will be selected on file and then invited to attend workshops from 17 to 30 October in Kinshasa, provided by the Académie France Médias Monde in the premises of the Rtnc. At the end of these days, the jury will meet on site to nominate the journalist and the technician (s) winners of the Stock Exchange who will benefit from a four-week training in Paris, fully supported, during the first quarter of 2020. The jury will be composed of representatives of the France Media World Group, the Sciences Po School of Journalism, the INA and the Congolese press.

The 2019 edition of the Fellowship is organized in partnership with the Rtnc (Congolese National Radio and Television), the School of Journalism of Sciences Po and the INA (National Audiovisual Institute), which respectively welcome the laureates. ) s journalist and technician in Paris. These courses complete an internship at RFI, at the headquarters of France Médias Monde, supervised by the trainers of the Academy.

RFI in the Democratic Republic of the Congo:

RFI has 9 FM transmitters (Bukavu, Lubumbashi, Matadi, and Goma on 98 FM, Bunia on 90.2 FM, Kinshasa and Kisangani on 105 FM, Mbandaka and Mbuji Mayi on 104.9 FM) as well as several radio partners broadcasting its programs.

In the capital, RFI is listened to every day by 16% of the population and 60% of executives and managers.
