31 August 2019A story that emerges from the night of history, over 50 years ago. The man accused of killing Robert F. Kennedy was stabbed yesterday in the California prison, where he is serving a life sentence.

75-year-old Sirhan Bishara Sirhanm is hospitalized in stable conditions. The attack took place at 14:21 (local time, 11.21 pm in Italy) in the Richard J. Donovan penitentiary, in San Diego county.

"The agents responded quickly and found a prisoner with stab wounds. His condition was stabilized after hospitalization," he added.

He spent about two-thirds of his life in prison Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, the man accused of killing Robert F. Kennedy. But in penitentiary Richard J. Donovan in San Diego County, near the Mexican border, where he was stabbed yesterday, he was transferred only 6 years ago, in November 2013.

Sirhan Bishara Sirhanm, a Palestinian Christian of Jordanian citizenship, was 24 years old when he killed "Bobby" Kennedy at the Amabassador Hotel in Los Angeles, where the then presidential candidate of the United States he had just given a speech to his supporters to celebrate the victory in the Democratic Party primaries on June 4th.

Sirhan was born in Jerusalem and lived for twelve years in the United States. He had moved with his parents, first to New York and then to California.

During the investigation it emerged that he had a real obsession with Robert F. Kennedy. The police found in his apartment a diary in which he expressed the wish to kill him, after the senator in the electoral campaign announced his support for Israel.

On the night of June 5, as Kennedy left the stage in the hotel lounge and crossed the kitchens to go to a meeting with journalists, Sirhan pushed through the crowd and shot gunshots, one hit Bob at the head . From the autopsy emerged a bullet entry hole behind the senator's right ear and the photo taken immediately after the shooting revealed a typical eyelid ptosis of a brain injury.
