Opener Finn Russell shone in Scotland's crushing 44-10 win over Georgia in Tbilisi on Saturday in a World Cup pre-season match.

Russel, who plays at Racing 92, was able to be decisive on 5 of the 6 tries scored by the XV thistle, in what will remain as the first game of a nation of the world elite of rugby in Georgia.

The two teams face off again next Friday for their last pre-World Cup match.

For his part Georgian pillar Kakha Asieshvili scored his sixth try in 35 test matches with the "Lelos", ranked 12th nation in the world rankings, behind Argentina but ahead of Italy.

But it was Finn Russell who ensured the show by playing a defense too slow for his legs of fire.

Decisive on the tests of Toolis and Hutchinson, it allows the Scots to lead 20 to 0 after 19 minutes.

In the second half, while the Fifteen of the Thistle leads 30 to 10, and there are 15 minutes left to play, the Francilien selected more than 30 times in the Scottish national team succeeds a magnificent shaving shot received by Darcy Graham, allowing winger to register a 4th try in 6 test-matches.

The Scots cross for the last time the Georgian test line in the last 5 minutes.
