It was about two weeks ago that there was red rain over Tväråbäck outside Vännäs and Bjurholm.

On social media, images of the red rain that were collected in space bins were disseminated and it was speculated as to what this could be due to.

SVT's meteorologist Deana Bajic got to see the pictures and the explanation she gave is that it is dirt like dust, smog and sand that exists in the atmosphere and when the rain is formed then water vapor condenses around the small particles and follows with the drops down.

This happens from time to time.
