The Polish authorities were very much looking forward to this visit, and not just a new symbol of the quality of relations between Washington and Warsaw. But Donald Trump announced on Thursday to cancel his trip due to hurricane Dorian coming closer this weekend off the coast of Florida. The US president was scheduled to attend Sunday's ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the start of the Second World War and make a speech before embarking on an official visit. Warsaw was waiting for announcements in defense.

A thousand more American soldiers in a country that already has 5,000. The announcement was made by Donald Trump last June during a visit of the Polish president in Washington.

From this trip, Poland was waiting for details about their mission. The country still hopes for a US military base on its soil, it will be called "Fort Trump". The proposal is from the Polish president, that is to say if the relationship between the leaders is good.
