East Timor Independence referendum 20 years ceremony "Further support" August 31 10:31

The commemorative ceremony held at the presidential office in Dili on the 30th was attended by UN officials who mediated referendum, as well as representatives of Indonesia and formerly colonized Portugal.

In Timor-Leste, parliamentary elections were held without major disruption last year, and democracy was firmly established, but the economic structure that relied on exports of resources such as crude oil continued, and the development of new industries has become a major issue .

On the diplomatic side, the ASEAN delegation is scheduled to visit in September to investigate the possibility of joining Timor-Leste.
