After a night of tributes, concerts and speeches, the remains of DJ Arafat arrived this Saturday morning in the stadium Félix-Houphouët-Boigny. Fans and officials salute the artist's memory for the last time before leaving for the cemetery.

This Saturday morning, the hearse arrived and went around the stadium before finishing his turn on the lawn where the body of DJ Arafat was installed on a flowering platform provided for this purpose. The mood has changed in minutes. The party gave way to sadness. In the stands, fans cry, take their heads and express all their sadness and emotion.

Officials are also on the pitch to pay homage to the "Daishinkan" one last time as everyone called it here. The music - a piece of DJ Arafat between two religious pieces - resonates in the stadium to celebrate the artist's career and to say a last goodbye to him before leaving for the Williamsville cemetery.

Sleepless night

Fans of DJ Arafat celebrated their idol until the early morning, since despite the sunrise, the crowd was still celebrating around 6am. The festivities began in the early evening with a few words from the family and relatives of DJ Arafat followed by some officials.

They then gave way to the music and shows of some of the continent's leading artists, such as Congolese Fally Ipupa and Malian Sidy Diabaté, who posthumously awarded his own platinum records to his friend and colleague DJ. Arafat died.
