According to the agency, the boy was hospitalized on July 19. Doctors fought for the life of the child, but he died on August 16.

The family was not informed about the boy’s death, as the parents were deprived of their rights and had never visited a sick child during his entire stay in a boarding school, explained the Ministry of Social Development.

“During the time of Zhuravlev’s stay in the boarding school, none of the potential guardians and foster parents appealed to the guardianship authorities - all this time the boy was in the care of the state,” the department explained.

Earlier, the boy’s grandmother Svetlana Zhuravleva told RT that the family found out about the death of the child only five days after the funeral.
