A valuable chandelier made in the 1940s by designer Märta Måås Fjätterström was stolen from Lommaryd's church in Aneby municipality, sometime during week 28. At first, no evidence was found and no preliminary investigation was initiated.

Tried to sell to antique dealers

An antique dealer in Stockholm was later offered an offer to buy a rug made by Märta Måås Fjetterström. The antique dealer became suspicious when they were offered to buy the rug for SEK 50,000, which is a low price for such a rug. When checking in the goods register, it was noted that a similar rug that the antique dealer offered was stolen from Lommaryd's church in connection with the request.

Suspected of more antique theft

The man now charged with the theft is also suspected of stealing a lamp from the Bräcke Diakoni Foundation worth SEK 3,500 and a bronze statue worth SEK 45,000 from Växjö Stiftgård Tallnäs outside Skillingaryd.

The suspected man is being tried in Eksjö District Court in two weeks. He admits in part the crimes he is suspected of.
