ARN's decision is indicative and thus SAS does not appear to have to replace passengers on the over 4,000 flights canceled due to the SAS pilots' strike. The strike paralyzed the company for just over a week at the end of April.

- We believe that the pilot strike at SAS was an extraordinary event and that the company has done everything that is reasonable to avoid the cancellation of the flight. As a result, the company is not obliged to pay the standardized compensation to those affected, Marcus Isgren, chairman of the General Complaints Board, tells SVT.

An ARN decision is only indicative and not mandatory. Already in May, SAS said that it did not intend to pay any compensation because the strike was "an extraordinary circumstance beyond our control".

Glenn's flight was canceled

The holiday week in Mallorca ended slightly more expensive than what Glenn Broberg from Karlshamn had expected, when he had to buy new air tickets home because of the SAS pilots' strike.

Glenn Broberg estimated that it all cost around SEK 15,000 and has sought compensation from SAS after the trip. But after receiving no response, he took the matter to ARN, which received at least 120 notifications against SAS after the pilot strike.

- It's very boring. My confidence in SAS disappears, I can say that, Glenn Broberg observes after the message.
