The Spanish-born actress holds the directors of the studio responsible for creating an environment conducive to the alleged violation of Harvey Weinstein

Paz de la Huerta: admitted urgently for alleged suicidal behavior

Paz de la Huerta, the American actress of Spanish origin, not only wants to charge former producer Harvey Weinstein in her demand for sexual assault. It has also included The Walt Disney Company, its current CEO, Bob Iger, and the former, Michael Eisner, as accomplices of the crime that occurred during the filming of The Cider House Rules , a tape with the Miramax seal, property then from Disney.

De la Huerta, daughter of the Duke of Mandas and Villanueva and Judith Bruce, an American from Minneapolis, filed a lawsuit in November against Weinstein for rape and has now decided to expand the list of those responsible for the alleged crime.

In the legal document presented in the superior court of Los Angeles, De la Huerta says that both Iger and Eisner "made a series of decisions that allowed Harvey Weinstein to execute actions that harmed Miramax employees unacceptably."

The lawyer of the 34-year-old actress - she was 14 years old at the time of the alleged Weinstein attack - goes further by stating that "it is clear that the risk of sexual assault by Harvey Weinstein is inherent in the work environment fostered by Miramax." He also explains that the family of the then young actress perceived the risk involved in filming in those conditions and went through moments of anxiety.

Bob Iger, Disney CEO

The applicant's conclusion is that Miramax is responsible for the assault for having allowed "these two individuals" to work together, referring to Weinstein and De la Huerta. Disney, meanwhile, has responded by shaking off the responsibility on top. "The Weinstein operated and operated their business with total autonomy. There is no legal basis to justify the claims against the company and we will defend ourselves vigorously," they said in a statement collected by The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to Disney, De la Huerta has also accused The Weinstein Co., the former Weinstein brothers' producer, and the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills for the assault, in a lawsuit he first filed in November last year in court federal and now has returned to the superior court of Los Angeles. In total, the actress seeks compensation of 60 million dollars in damages.

It is one of the lawsuits that weigh against Weinstein, who was arrested in May 2018 in New York after being accused of two sexual assaults. Actress Anabella Sciorra could testify against her, a process that has been delayed until early next year. Weinstein is free awaiting trial after paying a million dollars of bond on July 9.
