Born on October 15, 1936 in Paris, of a father-director of the Théâtre-Français and of a mother-actress, Hélène Gerber, Michel Aumont entered the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art at the age of 18. He obtained two years later a first prize of modern comedy before being engaged to the Comédie-Française.
