La Spezia, a copy of the 'caracca' arrived on which Magellan sailed

The "Nao Victoria" will remain in the port of La Spezia until September 8th, a replica of the caracca that Ferdinando Magellano used to accomplish for the first time an enterprise that had never been achieved before: the circumnavigation of the planet (1521). This is the faithful reproduction of the carrack edited by Nao Victoria, a Spanish non-profit organization that reconstructs historic boats. 26 meters long and with three trees, completely in wood like the boats of the time, it sailed from Seville and is sailing in the Mediterranean on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Magellan enterprise. It will be open to visitors with its 5 bridges until September 8 in La Spezia, where it arrived this morning.
