Ivan Marquez, former number two of the Colombian armed group Farc, has been in hiding for a year and announced on Thursday (August 29th) in a video that he was taking up arms alongside other rebel leaders who denounced the peace in Colombia.

In this video, dressed in a green trellis, alongside among others Jesus Santrich, another ex-leader of the dissolved Farcs, he announces "to the world" that began "the second Marquetalia (historical cradle of the rebellion of the sixties, Editor's note) in the name of the universal right of peoples to stand up in arms in the face of oppression ". Ivan Marquez was one of the key negotiators of the peace agreement signed in 2016.

The day before, an expert NGO of the armed conflict had alerted on a new guerilla probably in the course of "creation". A guerrilla force with thousands of FARC ex-combatants led by two rebel leaders who had sidelined the peace agreement.
