“This is a matter of principle. We represent a country that was directly related to the Second World War. Our grandfathers fought in the Soviet army against Nazism, ”TASS quoted Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan as saying.

He also said that Armenia has a "sensitive approach in terms of how such events are organized at different venues."

Events marking the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II will be held in Poland on September 1. The Russian delegation was not invited to them.

In the Kremlin, the absence of an invitation was perceived negatively. The Foreign Ministry pointed to the ignoring of Warsaw's historical logic.

Earlier, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported that the country's president, Alexander Lukashenko, will not take part in the ceremony in Poland on September 1. As a reason, the Foreign Ministry indicated that not all the republics that were part of the USSR were invited to commemorate events in Warsaw.
