Qatar Petroleum has signed two agreements with France's Total to acquire a share of the exploration and production-sharing franchise in two offshore areas off the coast of Namibia in southwest Africa.

Under the agreements, which will be subject to the necessary regulatory approvals in Namibia and the partners' approval, Qatar Petroleum will acquire 30% of the exploration and exploration rights in the region (2913b), while Total will retain a 40% stake, in partnership with Impact Oil (20%) and Namkor. (10%).

The first exploration wells in this area will be drilled in the first half of next year.

Qatar Petroleum will also acquire 28.33% of the exploration and exploration rights in the neighboring area of ​​2912. Total will retain a 37.78% stake, in partnership with Impact Oil (18.89%) and Namkor (15%).
