The aim of the project has been to create the best possible conditions for new arrivals with asylum, permanent residence permits or temporary residence permits in Hedemora, to establish themselves in the labor market.

It has been going on for three years and now it has reached its end. Evelina Bark-Nordin is the project manager.

- The project has been very extensive. We have organized social activities to lift and integrate new arrivals and worked with faster establishment to try to match competencies with different individuals, she says.

The goal: One thousand individuals

Examples of activities they have done are language friends, women meet and language cafe.

- Our overall goal has been to reach 1000 unique individuals.

She also highlights gender equality as an important thing.

- We have seen that newly arrived women are the furthest away from the labor market, so we have been trying to pay attention and get to the quickest integration possible.
