The Central Council of Forces for Freedom and Change has decided on the list of its candidates for the positions of the transitional cabinet, to be submitted later today to Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk.

The leader of the forces of freedom and change Salah Manna that the list includes 71 personalities with three candidates for each position to choose from whom the prime minister sees fit.

Manna announced that the number of ministries reached 18, in addition to the ministries of defense and interior, and four other councils, namely, culture and information, and federal government, and higher education, and religious affairs.

He said they expected the prime minister to announce his final cabinet line-up on Wednesday.

This came after a meeting of the Council continued throughout the night hours to discuss this issue.

The junta and the forces of freedom and change have agreed that the government should be a competence away from partisan quotas, and not more than 20 ministers.

The Sudanese army ousted President Omar al-Bashir on April 11 in the wake of popular protests against his regime.

The army formed a military council to manage a transitional period, but the protesters - led by the forces of freedom and change - refused to take over the military, and insisted on the transfer of power to civilians.

After months of bickering and protests, the two sides agreed to form a transitional body of civilians and military personnel to prepare for elections after three years.
