Every day in Sweden we talk about "shooting deaths". The appropriate legal term is murder.

Yesterday, a particularly horrific murder occurred on an open street in my old hometown of Malmö. A direct execution of a young woman who was out with her near enough newborn baby.

The eerie event took place very close to the place where I was last resident as long as I was registered in my birthplace. Now I have "escaped" from there and settled north of the Dalälven.

But unfortunately it is not possible to escape from the murders and shootings. They can occur anywhere in Sweden obviously.

The state - through all law enforcement agencies in collaboration with all of us here - must give the iron to show all the prone madmen that it costs in the form of a very real life prison for the adult and murderer.

Legislative amendment is required to remove the current restriction relating to the previous age of government. Testimony of each of us must make it increase.

Urgent investigation into the possibility of witness anonymity in special cases should be made.

Yesterday, after presentation of an investigation, there was much discussion about the police's efforts. More should be done about crime prevention activities, it was said.

In this context, it is worth pointing out that a particularly important crime prevention activity has always consisted in quickly and efficiently investigating and clearing not least the most serious crimes and, through successful prosecution, ensuring that the culprits fall behind locks and barriers.

For the heinous act that happened at the same time as the discussion on crime prevention in Malmö - where it is legally possible - there is in my opinion no other sanction than life imprisonment.

This will clarify the rules of the game for everyone.

Also for those who are considering, for example, revenge through more murders. The incapacitation of the perpetrators involved also seems to be crime prevention. In addition, for a very long time.

Another output feels creepy. If more and more perpetrators who have used the method of execution get away from the law's - if so - too short arm, we will have a negative spread effect.

More people in the criminal world can easily think "free" of killing people whom you feel offended for some reason. The killer may feel stronger than the state.

The confidence of the law enforcement authorities' lack of ability to resolve the most serious crimes naturally diminishes for each new unresolved murder.

But let's be optimists after all. A suspected person has been arrested who is likely to be suspected of involvement in the murder in Malmö. Hopefully we get a quick and effective preliminary investigation which, after final notification with all involved, leads to prosecution with a lawsuit that clearly shows that no one gets away.

Then the state of Sweden shows its strength towards all those who, for adventure, are thinking about murder or at least a position with an illegal weapon.
