The National Elections Commission (NEC) announced today the opening of applications for objections to candidates in the preliminary list of the elections of the Federal National Council 2019, where the Appeals Committee will examine all objections submitted to it, and the Appeals Committee will submit its legal opinion to the National Elections Commission.

According to the executive instructions of the Federal National Council elections 2019, each member of the Electoral College has the right to object to the candidacy of a candidate under the following conditions: The objection shall be based on serious and acceptable reasons, and the appeal shall be submitted to the Emirate Committee during the period from 26 to 28 August, To submit it to the Appeals Committee for consideration and decision, the applicant shall deposit an amount of three thousand three thousand dirhams as bail to the National Elections Commission.

The Appeals Committee, chaired by a judge and a member of two experienced and competent members, will consider applications submitted in accordance with the executive instructions for the FNC 2019 elections.

The committee will examine all appeals submitted to it and make recommendations and legal opinion to the National Elections Commission in this regard, the decisions of which are final and not subject to appeal by any of the candidates at a later date.

The Committee is scheduled to close the door of receipt of appeals on August 28, to respond on September 1 next.

According to the timetable of the FNC elections, the final list of candidates will be announced on 3 September.
