Algeria's Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army Lt. Gen. Ahmed Kayed Saleh called yesterday for the need to concentrate efforts on organizing the presidential elections as soon as possible.
In a speech on the sidelines of the supervision of the implementation of the practice of firing rockets, Qaid Saleh praised the submarines «Alonchris» and «Hoggar» against the surface targets of the main naval base Marsa Kabir west of Algeria, what he called «sincere national efforts by the National Mediation and Dialogue» .
He warned against «prejudice the supreme interests of the country, which does not accept any bargaining in any way», and said that the articulated phase that Algeria is going through requires prudence, prudence and insight, stressing that the Algerian army pledged to accompany the people and state institutions and the path of dialogue, according to a carefully studied approach. He added that «this approach is based on the weighting of constitutional legitimacy, through the organization of transparent presidential elections as soon as possible, we avoided all the transitional stages of the consequences, promoted by some parties that have no purpose but to achieve their narrow interests». The Algerian army chief reiterated his call for the need to expedite the installation of the National Independent Commission for the Preparation, Organization and Monitoring of the Presidential Elections, which is a fundamental guarantee for overcoming the status quo.
