On Monday, the trial ended at Skellefteå District Court, where a chief in his 40s was charged with attempted murder and attempted rape against children. According to the prosecutor, the man tried to force intercourse with a girl and stabbed her in the throat at a workplace in Skellefteå.
- The district court considers that there is convincing evidence for the actions that the prosecutor claims, says the man's defense lawyer Mikael Stenman.
The man will now undergo a forensic psychiatric examination before he gets his sentence.
- My client has always said that he can neither deny nor acknowledge the documents because he does not remember anything from the moment. We are positive that a forensic psychiatric investigation is being done because it is interesting to know why he does not remember anything, says the man's defense lawyer Mikael Stenman.
