Linköping has this year been on the so-called "red list" when Sweden's unified student union, SFS, summarizes the situation in Sweden's student cities.

Being red-listed means that students cannot be guaranteed a first-hand contract during the first semester. According to SFS, Linköping's red marking may be due to increased admission to the university.

According to Stångåstad's CEO Simon Helmér, one can rather see an improvement in the housing situation.

- We feel that we saw a slight improvement in 2018 and we think it will last in 2019, he says.
