Japan plans to continue cooperation with Russia and China on the DPRK


Yoshihide Suga, Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan, said that Tokyo intends to continue active cooperation with the international community, primarily with Moscow and Beijing.

“In order to achieve the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, we will continue close Japanese-American cooperation, trilateral cooperation between Japan, the USA and South Korea, as well as cooperation with the international community, primarily with Russia and China,” TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the Secretary General of the Japanese government, during the negotiations between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit in French Biarritz, the parties agreed on close cooperation on issues of North Korea’s nuclear missile program, as well as on the issue of Japanese citizens kidnapped by North Korean intelligence .

Earlier, Abe and Trump reached an agreement on the terms of a trade deal, which may be concluded in September.
