The Council of Sovereignty in Sudan has issued a decision to dismiss the Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Essam Abdel Farraj, in the wake of tribal clashes.

State television reported that the Sovereignty Council issued the dismissal decision after a meeting on events in Port Sudan, the Red Sea state.

He pointed out that the Council decided to activate the state of emergency in the state and take measures to maintain security and social peace, and prevent the transmission of tribal conflict to other parts of the country.

Al-Shorouk TV, which is close to the government, said Sunday that the death toll in tribal events in the city of Port Sudan has reached 17 since its eruption last Wednesday.

It added that police reinforcements were sent from the Central Reserve to separate the tribes "Bunni Amer" and "Nuba."

In the same context, a source in the Sovereign Council told Anatolia that the Council sent a delegation to Port Sudan to calm the situation in the city.

For his part, Director of Information at the Republican Palace Brigadier General Taher Abu Hajja in a statement that the competent security agencies monitored the use of firearms for the first time in the conflict, which reveals the existence of external and internal interventions to fuel and transfer to other cities.

Abu Hajja pointed out that the Sovereignty Council directed to raise the level of readiness among the security services to monitor any meetings or meetings held to feed the conflict, adding that the Council has formed a committee to investigate and investigate facts and initiate reparations and reparations.

The Director of Information at the Presidential Palace stressed the impartiality of the military and security services, stressing that the authorities will resolve all those who prove their bias to one of the parties because of affiliation or advocacy, pointing out that the Council of sovereignty supports political and social solutions.

In May, authorities announced that seven people were killed and 22 injured in a conflict between two tribes in Gedaref state (east). The conflict spread to Port Sudan in the same month due to the scarcity of water in the city.
