It all started with the football association Kiruna FF being told that they would move out of the changing rooms in the ice hall which is located next to the football pitch. The municipality would build new changing rooms for the football and the association submitted a drawing how they wanted the changing rooms to be designed. When they moved in in April, they discovered that a football team couldn't fit in a dressing room.

- When we moved in in April we quickly discovered that the changing rooms were too small for our business, not all players could fit in one room, says Fredrik Johansson, coach Kiruna FF.

"We got to gather everyone and crowd"

The municipality had not built according to the wishes of the association. In addition to the changing rooms being too narrow, they were built at an angle, all players could not see the coach's review from their seats, they had to crowd on a small area during the walk-through.

- We got to gather everyone and crowd at the team's review, but in a team you want the leader to stand in the middle and see all the players at the same time when training and tactics are laid out, says Fredrik Johansson.

- I understand the dissatisfaction it was not supposed to be this way. When we build something, we want it to be good from the beginning, so it has not been in this case, says Stefan Sydberg (M), chairman of the leisure committee.

Replace in the ice hall instead

Until the beginning of August, the football has changed in the ice hall instead because the new changing rooms were not functional. But when the ice hockey started their season, they had to move out of the ice rink. The municipality had ripped out the sauna department to make more room but despite that, not a whole team can get a room in a dressing room.

In addition, the association quickly discovered more deficiencies, no one cleaned the changing rooms or toilets and there was no washing machine in the laundry room.

- We try to keep after the cleaning ourselves and the material manager gets to wash clothes elsewhere, says Fredrik Johansson.

To be corrected

The Recreation Committee will have a meeting on Monday to discuss the matter and try to understand why it was so wrong.

- The municipality is now in the process of remedying this and is trying to make the changing rooms bigger so that the association can have the same conditions they have had before, says Stefan Sydberg (M).
