The alarm came just before 4 o'clock at night. The rescue service moved out to Hertsön with six units and when they arrived they were met by a fully developed fire. Despite the extinguishing work, the fire spread to three other houses in the townhouse length of a total of eight.

"Two houses are completely destroyed and the two houses closest to them are smoke and fire damaged," says Ronnie Lindberg, internal commander at the rescue service in Luleå.

No people were injured

No people should have been injured in the fire, but about twenty residents in the area had to be evacuated.

When the alarm came, there was a fire in a car that was in a carport that was built with one of the houses. The fire was under control just before eight o'clock.

- But we are still on the scene and will continue to do some extinguishing for the rest of the day, says Ronnie Lindberg.
