The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, through its Subsidiary Operations Division - City Center Municipality, has added a new sports entertainment icon to the beauty and entertainment front of the Abu Dhabi Corniche by completing a sports and exercise area in accordance with the best international standards in the Basin West 10 on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
Majid Abdul Kathiri, Director of the Municipality, said that this project is part of the Municipality's keenness to provide recreational spaces for families and children, enhance communication between members of the community, and provide public services facilities with high specifications for residents and visitors to Abu Dhabi City, pointing out that the project cost about 1,900,000 The business included the supply and installation of new games equipment to serve different age groups. The games equipment was selected according to the highest international standards and specifications. The games are made of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials such as natural wood. In addition to the use of beach sand on the floor of the game area to provide safety and pleasure for users of the game area.
He pointed out that in order to ensure the safety of children using the games area, a fence has been installed around the play area, and the establishment of umbrellas for play areas, sidewalks and pedestrian corridors, to link the play area with the existing corridors.
The development also included planting flowering trees to be used to provide shade for the game areas in line with business sustainability.
Al-Kathiri added that the project also included the establishment of an exercise area equipped with modern and smart equipment, with a sticker on how to use and can be read through the applications of barcode reading, where people can exercise areas to know how to use.
He added: This area is a new addition to the facilities of the Abu Dhabi Corniche, and contributes to improve the appearance of the city in the area of Abu Dhabi Corniche, which represents the façade and tourist destination frequented by residents, visitors and tourists.
The Director of the Municipality of the City Center said that the opening of the new games site comes as a continuation of the areas that have been rehabilitated and opened in 2019 and 2018, where the number of game areas that have been rehabilitated 34 sites, including 13 sites in the Abu Dhabi Corniche and 21 sites in the parks neighborhoods within the island of Abu Dhabi This has been reflected positively as the number of users of the Abu Dhabi Corniche and residential neighborhood parks has increased, and there are 29 play areas to be rehabilitated and completed in the fourth quarter of 2019.
