24 August 2019The Syrian regime has amassed reinforcements in Idlib to continue its offensive against jihadists and rebels in that province and other adjacent areas, which are beyond its control in northwestern Syria at war.

After resuming this week the key city of Khan Sheikhoun and other areas of the southern province of Idlib, government forces seem to want to move further north, towards Maaret al-Noomane, according to the Syrian Human Rights Observatory (Osdh).

The offensive is all the more important as the province of Idlib is one of the last regions of Syria to be in the hands of jihadists and rebels.
